Nothing gives someone more credibility than hearing what the people who have interacted and worked with them have to say.

Read what some of Ryan’s students, clients, and other professionals in the field have to say about him!

Ryan Nie is not only my professor, but he is also a mentor of mine and is a person I know I can trust to ask questions about anything involved with exercise or human movement. Ryan is an engaged leader and pays attention to all of the details when it comes to training clients. He is diverse in the sense that he can coach a group of middle school hockey players, while at the same time having an in-depth discussion about biomechanics with a fellow sports performance coach. Ryan had reached out to me and helped me obtain a summer internship at Velocity Sports Performance during the end of my junior year at Montclair State and it has been extremely beneficial. It has prepared me, as I seek a position within the collegiate ranks.  Professor Nie is not only qualified but he possesses the “intangibles” that set him apart from everyone else. He has passion and a will to succeed; both of which cannot be taught within the confines of a classroom.

Jay Bhutani (Colleague and Student)

Ryan Nie was my professor for Leadership in Anaerobic Exercise at Montclair State University and has also served as a mentor to me as a sports performance coach, while working with him at Velocity Sports Performance. He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about performance training, coaching, and teaching. He goes above and beyond to make sure his students understand the material in the classroom; meanwhile he pushes his athletes to constantly get better. Ryan has helped me tremendously to increase my knowledge in strength and conditioning along with making me a better coach. Ryan not only he pushes me academically to increase my knowledge in this field, but also makes sure that I know how to apply the information. Ryan is a great mentor to his students, athletes and colleagues.

If you are looking for a coach that really knows their stuff, Ryan Nie is your guy. Ryan was my professor at Montclair State and I learned more from him than any other teacher. Ryan is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about exercise, nutrition, and health. At the beginning of the semester, Ryan was reluctant to tell us his age because he thought that he’d lose the classes respect. He was wrong; learning he was only 23 made his knowledge of the fitness field even more impressive to me and just inspired me to work harder, in the classroom and gym, with the hope that I too can become as knowledgeable as he is. If you are looking for an enthusiastic coach who can teach you the science behind each exercise and how to increase your performance, Ryan is the guy for you.

Ryan Nie was my professor for Leadership in Anaerobic Exercise. My expectations of the class before the beginning of the semester were minimal. When I first saw Ryan I thought he was a student but it turned out that he was going to be my professor. Hearing him introduce himself and tell us about his background and how he got here made me realize two things; that I was in the right major and his class was going to be perfect for me. A few years ago, I had no idea about what I wanted to do with my life or even what a strength and conditioning coach was for that matter. During the semester, I found myself enjoying everything we were learning about more and more. Ryan taught in a way that was natural and you can see his passion and love for the field come out as he teaches. I have to admit that this class was a challenge, but for once, I actually enjoyed being challenged in school. I felt my confidence increase not only in his class but in all my other classes. I was always excited for what we were going to learn the following week. Unfortunately the semester came to a sudden end and I found myself wanting to still learn more. For the first time in my life, I didn’t want a class to end and that’s saying a lot coming from me. Ryan made our class come together in such a little amount of time because he made the learning experience enjoyable for all. He also made us feel as if he was our friend and mentor. I left his class with a full set of knowledge and understanding that was beyond what I could have ever imagined. I am very glad that I was able to have Ryan as a teacher and I am happy to take away some of his passion for this field with me.
